Qantas Boeing 787 Dreamliner overview

Qantas’ first Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft is scheduled to arrive in Australia later this year with the carrier’s first service commencing between Melbourne and Los Angles on 15 December 2017. Just a few short months later this service will be joined by more Qantas 787 aircraft flying a completely new route: Perth to London direct. It’s a very exciting time for Qantas and their customers given the route possibilities this ultra long haul aircraft opens up.

In addition to all new aircraft, Qantas announced new aircraft livery and an improved version of its A330 Business Suite for guests seated up the front. Premium Economy seating will be revealed in March 2017 which hopefully rivals the excellent offerings of Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines and Air New Zealand. The excellent news is that Economy passengers haven’t been left out of the equation with an improved seat pitch of 32 inches, compared to the current 31 inches offered by Qantas 747 and A380 flights. As someone who is tall, I can tell you this extra inch makes a difference! So let’s take a look at the new cabin up close.
